Advertising texts, operating instructions, or legal texts? Qualified translations for numerous specialist areas

We produce technical translations for many different fields and industries. This works so well because we have many experienced native speakers with different technical knowledge worldwide in our team, who receive training at regular intervals. They are therefore just as adaptable as the language itself.

Here are the biggest and most common specialist areas in our translation projects:

When we handle Dutch translations, we do more than just convert the language – we find the right tone and terminology as well. In order to provide exactly the right translations for the specialist area of your company, we would be delighted to collaborate with the specialists in your company. This close collaboration is a wonderful way to produce high quality tests that impress, motivate, and sell – from product descriptions to technical translations and marketing texts.

Similar, but also completely different – everything you need to know about Dutch

The Dutch language is really interesting! More than 23 million people speak it, mainly in the Netherlands and Belgium. There are some similarities to the English language, which is why English speakers can understand some of the words and the grammar. But beware, this doesn’t mean that English speakers will all be able to understand Dutch! The Dutch language also has its own peculiarities, such as the use of indefinite and definite articles. Of course, there are also cultural and structural linguistic differences – both in online and offline communication – which have to be taken into consideration in business relationships. However, the relaxed nature of communication in the Netherlands is similar to that in England.

The translations between the two languages still have to be prepared by trained specialist translators, since they are aware of the respective differences and details, and ensure that the translations are precise and culturally appropriate. This means that communication does not only take place at technical and corporate levels, but also at a cultural level. Our translators, who live in the Netherlands themselves, know the Dutch language and culture like the back of their hand, and can produce translations which are clear and understandable and exactly to the point.

Tailored translations: Set up your own Dutch-English database!

Do you have your own style, and like to express yourself in your own way? Do you already use specific Dutch specialised terminology in your company?

With our terminology database we record your expressions and phrases so that they are used consistently in your texts. A terminology database is like a dictionary tailored specifically to your company, where you can look up the specialised terminology in different languages. There you will find definitions, images and explanations of the context. It is also browser-based, and available in every language that you need. And it’s all very simple:

  1. Simply send a list containing the words and expressions that you would like to have in your database. If you wish, you can also add descriptions, documents, existing definitions or texts from advertising material and images.
  2. Our language experts will examine the whole thing and pick out the important words and concepts which they regard to be the key expressions in your terminology.
  3. Once you have approved the selection, we start to translate your terms into the required languages. This way you will know exactly what to expect in your future translations.

Your database of specialised terminology will be connected to all your translation projects, so the translators can always easily find your special terminology. This ensures that your preferred expressions and terms are used in every language when your texts are translated. The costs of the terminology database are calculated based on your needs, but always remain fair and transparent. Please contact Peter (Head of Sales and Marketing) to find out more about your options in conjunction with the terminology database.

FAQ — the most frequently asked questions by our customers

Your price depends on several parameters, including the text type, the language combination and the size of your translation memory. So there is no standard price. However, we will always calculate the best possible price based on the parameters above. Minimum prices may also apply. Find out more about our pricing here.

If you require a quote quickly, simply send us a document containing the text to be translated.  Once we have analysed the content, we will provide you with a no-obligation quote tailored to your needs and your project.

Your project manager will answer this question after he/she has analysed your text and checked the availability of the best possible translator. However, a good rule of thumb is that a translator can translate about 2200 words per working day. Of course, there are exceptions to the rule, but this number at least serves as a good guideline.

ATTENTION! This estimate only includes the actual translation work and does not include extra time for file preparation, quality control and layout.

You can find further information about the translating process here.

All of your translations are subjected to a thorough quality check by our trained project managers. We can also have your translations proofread and corrected by another language expert, if you commission us to carry out this service.

Find out more about proofreading here.

We use machine translation as a tool for translation jobs if the use thereof is advantageous, e.g. in order to reduce processing times. Of course, the machine translations are also revised by our translators so that the quality of the translation corresponds to your requirements. The translated texts are not stored or re-used by the machine provider, and if we use machine translation, it only applies to the sentences which we cannot re-use from your translation memory.
If you do not want us to use machine translation as a tool for your translation jobs, just let us know and we will of course respect your wishes.

Our most frequent and longest business associations are with companies from the areas of transport and logistics, software and IT, robotics, agriculture, industry, and trade and services.

However, we also cover other areas, and have translators with many different specialisations.

Here you will find an overview of the industries with whom we collaborate most frequently.

The price depends on the specific solutions you would like to use in your specific case, or which ones it really makes sense to use. The costs for a terminology database are especially difficult to estimate without looking at your specific case, since it depends on whether a new database has to be created, or whether just subscription-based access to the existing terminology database is provided. In any case, the price of the solutions will be part of your quote.  Please contact Peter  (Head of Sales and Marketing), to find out more about your options, or read more about the Language Portal and its four solutions here..
